About A FREE SUN
Our name is our promise. We design and build affordable off-grid solar products — lighting, home systems, energy storage and e-mobility — so the one billion people without reliable electricity can take power into their own hands.
What we believe
OUR VALUES
Continuous innovation is not optional. We challenge conventions and push boundaries in every product cycle.
Ten years and more in the off-grid industry. Deep expertise beats shallow breadth.
R&D engineers must visit the field. Understanding real user conditions drives better design.
Pursue the ultimate in product performance. Good enough is never enough.
Every decision starts with the customer. Their trust is our most valuable asset.
Our story
Families were burning money on kerosene just to see at night. We built our first solar lights to end that — brighter, safer, and free to run.
Portable multi-lamp systems with phone charging. Today they light homes, shops and night markets across Africa — and pay for themselves.
Fixed home systems with room-to-room lighting, security light, phone charging — and on BAR-3, a 200 Wh battery that runs the TV and the fan.
Lithium storage that turns a sunny day into power for the night and the cloudy week, expanding our offer from light to full energy.
Electric motorcycles that swap fuel costs for sunshine — the newest line in the A FREE SUN energy ecosystem.
